orlandolovekill ...Sipping hemp tea, valerian-rich, I listen...drones of calming love - motherly, almost - slowly swell from my little speaker, taming the Scottish summer wind in the trees outside...tones embracing the lightbulb-lit light around me and lifting the night in arms of sonic comfort...another part of the world enriched...

about

A thousand gadgets, new and old,
We use without a thought, so bold.
We never stop to ask or wonder
If they might bring us harm or plunder.

We take their magic for granted,
Our world so full of things enchanted.
We never stop to think of how
A simple thing could bring us low.

A cataclysm, sudden and vast,
Could wipe us all out in an instant.
The world we know would be no more,
Our lives reduced to dust and gore.

But still we live our lives in ease,
Uncaring of the future's freeze.
We think we're safe, but we are not,
The end could come at any moment.

The world is full of gadgets,
A never-ending stream,
From the smallest to the grandest,
They're all ours to seem.

They make our lives more easier,
And take the pain away,
But what if they're the reason,
That our world will one day stray?

We've become so reliant,
On these machines of ours,
That we've forgotten how to live,
Without them in our powers.

What if a cataclysm comes,
And our technology fails,
Will we be able to survive,
Without our gadgets and rails?

I think it's time we took a step back,
And looked at what we've done,
We've become too reliant,
On these machines that have no sun.

So which is better? Gadgets or cataclysms?
It's hard to say.
Gadgets can make your life easier,
But they can also be addictive and distracting.
Cataclysms can be destructive,
But they can also be a catalyst for change.

about

Wings Of An Angel Israel

My own identity feels like a construct, a collection of roles and personas worn like so many masks. Who am I, really?

Perhaps in the end, we are all just characters in someone else's novel, puppets dancing on strings we cannot see.
